PowerBox Disposal of old appliances

Correct disposal of batteries and electrical appliances
Disposal of electronic and electrical appliances in accordance with the Battery and Electrical Equipment Act

We fulfil the obligations of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) in Germany and would like to point out the following to you as our customer:
Waste electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with household waste. Consumers are obliged to dispose of them properly and separately from household waste.
To make this clear, since 2005 all new electrical and electronic products placed on the market have been labelled with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin as a visible sign of resource conservation and environmental protection.

You have the option of taking waste electrical and electronic equipment to a suitable collection point in a retail outlet or local authority. You can also return your old appliances to us free of charge:

Please remove batteries and rechargeable batteries as far as possible and dispose of them as described under ‘Returning batteries’. For devices with data storage, you are obliged to delete personal data.

Disposal of used batteries and rechargeable batteries
According to the Battery Act, you must observe the following when disposing of batteries:

As our consignments may contain batteries and rechargeable batteries, we are obliged under the Battery Act (BattG) to inform you that batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if they are not stored or disposed of properly. However, they also contain important raw materials (such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel) and can be recycled. You have two options for disposing of used batteries:
Either send the batteries back to us after use or return them free of charge in the immediate vicinity (e.g. at retail outlets or municipal collection centres). Disposal at points of sale is limited to the usual quantities for end users and to used batteries that the distributor carries or has carried as new batteries in its range.
